SOUL Lifting in these Times
In the times of great floods, natural and man-made disasters (Like this great pandemic COVID-19) we receive gifts. But unfortunately, because we feel such great pain and despair, we forget how to feel the joy. Lots of us have let this situation beat the joy & happiness right from the depths of our Collective Soul.
By this action, You are described as a lost soul, even though you live on earth. Some lost souls are ensnared by the perception of the power of money and possessions. Some souls that are lost, just gave up and jumped on the wheel of ordinary living. So, beat down by life, that you don’t see the bright, brilliant colors that are touched by a life that is experienced and well lived. (A Life that is lived on the six senses) All the moments that make each life unique.
I know folks are going to come for me, but as my Wonderful Sister says at our Family Reunions; I have a voice and I am going to speak my truth. (Her emotional energy is raw and unfettered.) SOUL: This is an animated classic; that when you feel it with your heart should bring us all together. When you look beyond, what you see with your eyes, and you actually look with your SOUL. This movie Lifts the SOUL. When we allow ourselves to feel it with our being, just for a single moment we collectively; will be renewed in this moment.
Jamie Foxx, gave (Teach); Joe Gardner amazing depth and of course, who can forget that he is a masterful pianist. (Award winning as Mr. Ray Charles) Tina Fey (22) was the baby born with the old soul. Everyone knows a Child that is brilliant, but lost within the constraints of self-doubt. Their lives intersect in The Garden of Inspiration. The inspiration he gives as a human, but unwillingly in the spiritual realm. He catches the breath of life while experiencing an awakening of true consciousness.
Breathe in the times when your Star shined its very brightest! It doesn’t matter if it was, that you listened to an Elder and shared your time. You comforted a Baby, to help a Mother challenged by Parenthood. The time when you let your best friend cry, because she was Motherless. These moments and so many more are SOUL Lifters in the intersections of time and space. (Like the sweet voice of Ms. Phylicia Rashad) Her voice calls to another space in my soul like the comfort of well-made Southern Sweet Tea, cooled and iced to perfection. In the background, the beauty of Spring with the blooms of Sweet Magnolia blossoms and honey suckle winds, dancing through the bouncy soft tufts of air in the Sun setting evening. (This is what I hear when she speaks)
In these moments we receive the STAR, that is so bright, it is a Super Nova in the sky. (Artist on such a Soul bending plateau that they live in the Divine and Human realm simultaneously) You know these magical angels that give us joy and elation on a Heavenly plane. (Actresses; Actors, Singers, Song Writers; Visual and Graphic Artist blessed with a Supernatural gift) Ms. Angela Bassett and Ms. Phylicia Rashad along with other greats like Ms. Diahann Carol and Ms Eartha Kitts. So many more to name, these amazing talents speak to me always. Ms. Whitney Houston, Ms. Mariah Carey, Ms. Patti Labelle, Ms. Gladys Knight and the personal favorites; Ms. Lisa Fischer; Ms. Regina Belle and Ms. Phyllis Hyman. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention; Luther Vandross, Jeffery Osborne, Johnny Gill, Peabo Bryson and Isaac Hayes. (Please forgive me, if I didn’t mention your Artist and their amazing gifts.) As many seasoned folks say, please charge the violation to my head and not my heart.
I apologize, for going off the path, but I feel so light in the very depths of my soul. I was inspired to write about the love this animated work of art bought to my life today. Live in the beauty of this film. Let your Heart feel the goodness it is intending to bring a nation, that is in crisis. Don’t let your heart be hardened and your mind sit in despair. Live in the beauty of this moment titled; SOUL.
